A local group for artisans and craftspeople. The main focus is to start a strong art community within Lennox & Addington . Individuals will meet others with similar interests, be kept up to date on events, workshops, and receive a bimonthly newsletter. Meetings will be monthly, and at the present time in members homes.
The guild has been going through various changes in the last while. We have decided to focus on doing four shows in 2009 which will all be held at the Napanee Lion’s Hall. The goal of this is to establish a more regular venue for the artisans and patrons. If this change is well received there is a possibility that we will add more shows in the future.
We also will continue to do our Yearly Themed Exhibit with the theme for 2009 being Planes, Trains and Automobiles. This show is presented in the Fall at various downtown retail locations.
Another change is that we are introducing mini workshops throughout the year which will be available to the members. Through this process we will all become more familiar with each members chosen medium.
We will continue to have spaces throughout the community where guild members work can be viewed by the general public. Presently we have a window at 13 Dundas E where we do monthly themes, a monthly artist at the Napanee Business Centre/47 Dundas E, and we are happy to add the Loaf & Ale/25 Dundas E to the list. The Loaf & Ale is providing a venue for the members to show there work and are organizing a meet and greet which is held the first Tuesday of the month from 6-8pm. Changeover happens monthly. We hope to have a couple of more spaces organized in the near future.
